My first crochet lesson

I had a great time yesterday learning to crochet with Penny (The Pearly Queen). She gave me lovely lovely wool and now I can't put it down! I even got up at 6.30 this morning to do some. It is going to be a bag, I will photograph the finished article. It is done in double crochet and is really nice and strong. The finished fabric is quite dense and solid.

Well done! Beautiful. What will you do next?

You could have a sideline and sell them!
I used to make & sell rag dolls!

That looks great, can't wait to see the finished article. Crochet's great isn't it - and very easy to keep track of the number of stitches :-D

Hi Maggie, I have got to make a strap for the bag, sew it up and get a nice buttong to make a fastening. I also learnt half double and triple today. I have made the flap of the bag on a slant. It sounds odd, but you'll see when I finish it all.

Penny, who is teaching me makes the most stunning bags and sells them, it would take me years to get to her standard. :-)

Hi DND, lovely to here from you. I hope all is well with you. I am loving crochet, it seems to progress quicker than knitting. I can't wait to learn more and do more. :-)

You're a good pupil Debra! You get it first time, and do your homework :-)

Hi Penny, it helps having a good teacher and especially one who is so enthusiastic about it all. Seeing you work (and now owning some!!!) gives me something to aim for and to see what can be acheived. :-)
